Hi and welcome to Walsh Heritage. My name is David Walsh, the founder and lead restoration expert.

I know it's meant to show how great we are and the bajillion years of experience we have that makes us so AMAZING, but I'm going to take a different route here.
I want to share with you our story of why we do what we do and how the "seed" for this company was planted over 40 years ago when I was a child...
Walsh Heritage came about from 2 things:
my love of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses
working for 20+ years with my father at John Walsh Joinery - from the age of 10!
Every once in a while we would be asked to replicate a magnificent front door from a Georgian house or replace a full set of sash windows for a builder my father did work for.
(Restoration wasn't "a thing" in the 80's or 90's)
As I discovered the craftsmanship that went into making these majestic works, I fell more and more in love with them.
My father, the John Walsh of John Walsh Joinery, was a true master craftsman, who also had a passion for heritage homes.
He would break down how everything was made and taught me to recreate these 150+ year old doors and sash windows to be identical to the original.
As I travelled the world in pursuit of my Olympic dream representing Ireland in the martial art of Taekwondo, everything that my father taught me was not lost.
It stayed with me, tucked safely away, patiently waiting to be used one day again.
And after a number of careers, I returned back to the world of construction, and carpentry in particular.
And that passion for preserving our past grew even bigger and so I pursued restoring heritage sash windows and doors.
Taking a 150 or 200 year old sash or door and be able to breathe new life into it is one of the most rewarding things I've found.
And this is why I created Walsh Heritage - to breathe new life into heritage doors and sash windows for generations to come.
